Seniority Rules

The 2008 Ms. Senior Georgia Pageant recently was held at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center in historic Roswell. Seventeen lovely ladies vied for the opportunity to be crowned Ms. Senior Georgia. Contestants were at least 60 years of age and promoted "Positive Seniorhood." The contestants came from all across the state to perform and to demonstrate specific requirements before a delegation of judges.

Interview: A personal interview with the judges is 30 percent of the total score.

Talent: The talent presentation is designed to encourage talent and to demonstrate that talent does not diminish with age. This part of the pageant is 30 percent of the total score.

Evening Gown: Each contestant displayed her poise and grace, not only with her clothing style but also her lifestyle. The evening gown section is 15 percent of the total score.

Statement of Principle — Platform: Each contestant presents a written statement which conveys her community service or passion for life. They are then asked an onstage question related to their platform. The platform is worth 15 percent and the onstage question is worth 10 percent of the total score.

The new Ms. Senior Georgia, Ann Beaman D’Agostino, a resident of Marietta, was crowned by Brenda Bryan, Ms. Senior Georgia 2007. Linda Havens from Roswell was first runner-up.
