FEATURED ARTICLES

Most of us don’t think twice about our five senses. We have the ability to see, smell, feel, taste, and hear. But what if the ability to hear gradually declined? What would it be like to lose the ability to hear and the ability to enjoy life to its fullest? What if you lost your ability to hear and enjoy your life to the fullest extent possible? There is a solution to this problem, thanks to hearing aids and other hearing devices; so why not get hearing aids from the price leader in the state? MyLife Hearing Aids will perform a free hearing test on you, and if you have hearing loss, a high-quality, affordable hearing aid can be provided.

MyLife Hearing Aids is a national corporation that started in the Northeast. Locally, Michael and Cathy Roberson own the Cartersville and Kennesaw franchises, as well as the Alpharetta location that is expected to be open in early 2009. MyLife hearing centers are fairly new to the area, as the Cartersville center opened in May, and the Kennesaw center opened in August of this year. They were the first MyLife Hearing Aids franchisees to bring the business to the Southeast. Michael, a former civil engineer and contractor, and Cathy, a former nurse, left their previous career fields to go into business together for MyLife Hearing Aids. They both have gone though extensive training to learn about hearing aids. There are currently 14 MyLife Hearing Aids centers across the country, including other locations in Duluth and Snellville, with 20 more set to open nationwide within the next six months.

Price Leader in Georgia

What sets MyLife Hearing Aids apart from its competition is not only carrying top-of-the-line hearing aid products, but also that it is the price leader in Georgia. This is something that Michael and Cathy pride themselves on with their business. "That’s one of our guarantees; we guarantee to beat anyone here in Georgia in price by 15 percent with the same or similar type hearing aid," notes Michael. "Another thing we pride ourselves on is the variety in price. Because hearing aids can be expensive, that’s a big reason why people who need hearing aids don’t go out and get them," he continues. This truly exemplifies MyLife Hearing Aids’ motto, "Finest Hearing Aids, Lowest Prices Guaranteed."

Most insurance companies do not cover hearing aids. At MyLife Hearing Aids, most of the business comes from the patient buying out of their own pocket. "That’s why it is important for us to be the price leader. To us, it’s not a luxury item like a new car is; it’s a necessity, just like you need your medication. It brings that quality of life back to your lifestyle," explains Michael.

MyLife Hearing Aids also has a risk-free hearing aid trial policy. This offer is for first-time users as well as for those who need to replace their old hearing aids. MyLife Hearing Aids will give you the opportunity to try any hearing aid with no financial risk. Within the first 30 days, a full refund will be returned for your hearing aid if you are not completely satisfied with it.

Welcoming Atmosphere with
Knowledgeable, Friendly Staff

From your first step in the door at the MyLife Hearing Aids Center, you feel a sense of calmness and a very welcoming atmosphere. The waiting room is inviting and the friendly staff always greets you with a smile. In My Life Hearing Aids’ waiting room, free coffee, water and snacks are offered for the comfort of each patient. The music is soothing and a TV slideshow plays, depicting children and adults whose hearing has been improved, thanks to hearing aids. There are three full time staff members that work at each hearing center. The patient care coordinator does all the office managerial work and schedules appointments. Each MyLife Hearing Aids Center has two hearing instrument specialists that are state licensed. They must pass a five-part test in order to become licensed. The friendly staff at MyLife Hearing Aids will test your hearing and if necessary, provide you with a hearing aid that will work best for you.

New Hearing Aid Technology

There are many different hearing aids on the market right now, and MyLife Hearing Aids offers the following types: behind-the-ear, in-the-ear, in-the-canal, mini canal and completely-in-the-canal, as well as the newest hearing aid technology called RIC (Receiver in Canal). This advanced type of hearing aid allows the receiver (the microphone) to go into your ear canal, allowing the hearing aid to be more dynamic for people with a very active lifestyle. There is an earpiece that goes behind the ear, but it’s less noticeable and is even water resistant! You can be assured that at MyLife Hearing Aids you will benefit from the latest digital hearing aids offered from a variety of different manufacturers, ensuring that you always will get the very best solution for your hearing loss.

Hearing Aid Services

At any MyLife Hearing Aid Centers, a variety of services is offered to the patient. There is a free hearing test, which checks your ability to recognize tones and everyday words at different volume levels. There is also a free professional hearing analysis, which is a $300 value, and includes hearing aid wax removal, moisture removal and cleaning, hearing aid adjustment, and a repair estimate. MyLife Hearing Aids also provides maintenance on hearing aids even if patients did not purchase from the center. Cleaning and repairing hearing aids that were purchased elsewhere is also available at MyLife Hearing Aids Centers. Michael explains, "There are some repairs that we do in the center, but we’re limited to what we can fix in here. We can send devices off to do the repair if we can’t do it here." Most hearing aids sold at MyLife have a one or two-year warranty in which all repairs are covered and cleanings are always free throughout the life of the hearing aid. This is important because most hearing aids typically last between 5 to 10 years.

This affects not only their lives, but also the lives of their family and friends.
